I need a break from theology and philosophy...
How do you know it's ok to give a phone number out to a guy, or even if he wants it? Does he ask for it? Is it considered polite for a man to ask for a lady's phone number? If so, how can you ascertain (beforehand) that he is not a stalker?
I was toying with the idea of giving someone my phone number, but I do not want to make a fool out of myself.

In real life, he should ask.
Online ... I'm a fan of the calendar method. 365 days after First Contact, you may supply a number if asked. Unsolicited phone numbers may send wrong signals.
But what the heck to I know anyway!?! =P
So does that mean I was forward with you? :D
If you're interested, you should just ask for his number. Be prepared for rejection, but go for it (assuming the benefits outweigh the risk).
I was but I think I've decided against it after doing some reading and considering.
Rejection sucks.
Besides, it's a question once asked, can't be unasked. Hurt feelings take a long time to heal and it might taint the friendship.
I still DO want to ask for his number, but I'll wait awhile.
You were not being forward with me! Part of my "advice" was a Scorpio maneuver to remain among the privileged elite who DO have your number!
Oh, and I like your "avatar." Evocative, artistic, and hot! :D
In case you were wondering, Grant, yeah it was you that would have got my phone number.
BUT...I read your meme and I respect your feelings regarding phones and hating them.
